Inspiration, move me brightly…
After my stroke, reconnecting with creativity felt out of reach. Then, on May 22, 2023, an unexpected concussion brought everything to a halt—and, surprisingly, opened something new. After days of rest and quiet, I began taking short walks and slowly re-entering the world. As the mental fog lifted, I found myself thinking about a forgotten set of watercolors from a class that never happened. I decided to simply play with color, shape, and line. That moment became the beginning of my Concussion Sketchbook—an exploration rooted in curiosity, looseness, and creating without expectation. Since then, my art practice has continued to evolve through experimentation, interpretation, and trust in the creative process. Working in larger formats and new mediums has opened space for greater freedom, play, and discovery. What began as gentle experimentation has grown into a deeper, more confident practice—and the emergence of my signature style. |

The Concussion SeriesThis collection grew from the first pages of my Concussion Sketchbook, where I began reconnecting with creativity through color, curiosity, and play. Creating without pressure taught me to trust the process and rediscover joy in making art.

Larger formats, new materials, and mixed media as I continue to stay curious—looking at the brain and themes related to stroke and recovery. I’m also exploring how this visual language can translate into collaborative designs, such as the thank-you notes for AHA. My work continues to be guided by presence, curiosity, and transformation. |
